Terms & privacy

How apicheck works, what it costs and what happens to your files.

Your account

  • Accounts are created by the admin. There is no self-registration.
  • You get your email and password from the admin. Keep them private.
  • You cannot change or reset your password yourself. To change your password, please contact the admin.
  • The admin can disable an account. A disabled account cannot log in.
  • For your security you are logged out after 12 hours without activity, and at the latest 7 days after logging in.

Prices and payment

  • AI + Similarity check: ৳70. AI check only: ৳40. Prices can change; you always pay the price shown when you upload.
  • Your balance is added by the admin. The price is taken from your balance when you upload a file, so you need enough balance for the check you choose.
  • Every change to your balance is listed on the Transactions page.

Files

  • Only .docx and text-based .pdf files are accepted, up to 9 MB.
  • Scanned PDFs (images of pages) are not supported. Upload a text-based PDF or the .docx instead. A .doc file must first be saved as .docx in Word.

Refunds

  • If the AI check fails, the full amount you paid is refunded to your balance automatically. In an AI + Similarity check the similarity check then does not run.
  • If only the similarity check fails, ৳30 is refunded automatically and you keep the AI report.
  • Balance used for a completed check is not refundable.

How the checks work

  • AI check: your file is sent to an external service, academi.cx, which estimates how much of the text is AI-written. The AI % is an estimate, not a certain result. Do not use it as the only evidence.
  • Similarity check: short phrases (a few words each) from your text are searched with public web search services and open research databases (OpenAlex, Europe PMC, CORE, Semantic Scholar, arXiv, DOAJ, Wikipedia). The whole file is not sent to them. Your text is compared with public websites and open-access papers only, so the result can differ from other tools.
  • The reference list (References / Bibliography) is not counted in the similarity result.

Privacy and deletion

  • Your uploaded files and both reports are deleted from our server automatically 7 days after the check.
  • The similarity service deletes its copy of your report as soon as it has been delivered, and at the latest after 7 days.
  • We do not use your files for anything else and do not share them with anyone.
